All children with hearing loss will have difficulty understanding speech in noisy environments, where the speaker’s face is not visible, or where the speaker is at a distance

Classrooms are by nature noisy places, and some are noisier than others

Best acoustics are achieved by minimizing reflecting surfaces: carpets on the floors or tennis balls on chair feet, curtains, wall coverings. 

Preferential seating in the front of the class, away from noise-producing equipment such as air conditioners is essential
